Red-veined Pennant (Celithemis bertha) is a pennant distributed through the southeast. It breeds in lakes with a sand bottom, open water, and grassy fields nearby (Paulson, 2011). A small population was recently discovered in St. Mary's County in 2014, a significant range extension (Richard Orr's The Dragonflies and Damselflies of Maryland and the District of Columbia).
