Status:

Found on dead or fallen oaks.

Description:

Fruiting body: Infertile surface of orange/brown/black, margin light when fresh; edges usually curl up; flexible when fresh, brittle when dry; may have an almond odor. Fertile surface: Orange with some brown tinges; smooth or wrinkled; turns red when injured; may ooze red drops (J. Solem, pers. comm.).

Relationships:

Very closely affiliated with oaks.
