The Golden-crowned Kinglet is a local breeder in coniferous forests of far western Maryland, but a common spring/fall migrant and wintering species around the state.
Especially fond of coniferous forests. Most easily detected by learning their subtle calls, a series of "tsee" calls, usually around three in a row.
