Description
Similar Chelone lyonii is native to the Appalachians and is popular in the garden trade.
Relationships
Unlike the White Turtlehead, Red Turtlehead is not known as a larval host plant for the state-rare, Maryland state insect, the Baltimore Checkerspot (see Choukas-Bradley, in Marilandica).
