Status

The type species for the genus, Diogmites platypterus is dark in color, and has broad wings, as its specific epithet would suggest. The wings are dark brownish, darker than any similar species. The body is dark brown, without conspicuous lateral spots on the abdomen, while the legs are orange or yellow. The species occurs in low vegetation near water (Artigas, 1966).
