The genus Lasiopogon contains numerous species, many with localized distributions along creek/river bank habitats, or beaches. Lasiopogon woodorum is northeastern (Herschel Raney's RNA site). Records from Virginia range from May 2-June 30. The Great Falls locality is just across the Potomac from Maryland (Bedell 2010).
