Description:

Cap: Reddish-brown to yellowish-brown (margin lighter in age); convex to broadly convex to flat with light marginal striations; flesh thin. Gills: Pale (tan/light brown in age); attached, subdistant. Stem: Light yellowish when young, changing to dark brown from base up (J. Solem, pers. comm.).

Where to find:

Solitary or groups in leaf litter or woody debris (may be buried) in hardwood forests (oak-hickory/beech-maple) (J. Solem, pers. comm.).
